This is an ongoing project of the exploration of my ancestors, my heritage, and my father, who immigrated to the US from a poor little-known village to live the American dream by starting his own engineering firm and supporting his 3 children (me included) to college.

Personal history aside, I will also explore the impact of the communist government and the cultural revolution on the people of and surrounding Meizhou, the Hakka capital, in Guangdong province of China.

And finally, I will document over the next 10+ years the ongoing impact of China’s current government initiative to modernize and build infrastructure in this city and surrounding areas. I intend to return to this city every year to continue documentation and research.
